Old University Assembly Hall (Alte Aula)

  
Old University Assembly Hall (Alte Aula) The center of the university, founded in 1477, used to be in the lane "Münzgasse" around the Alte Aula. In the grating of the balcony one can see the emblem of the university, two crossed scepters, a symbol of the independent jurisdiction and former autonomy. In house no. 20 you can visit the former university's prison (Karzer).
